Rebekah Jackson

Rebekah is an Australian writer/director from the Blue Mountains, NSW.

 

Most recently, Rebekah’s directorial debut, the award-winning short film ‘For the Girl in the Coffee Shop’ premiered to a sold-out audience at the historic TCL Chinese Theatres in Hollywood; in competition for the Oscar-qualifying Dances with Films; before going on to screen over 50 times worldwide, winning Best Original Music for a Short Film at the Australian Screen Music Awards; and presented for Philippine-Australia Friendship Day by the Australian Consulate in the Philippines. The film is now screening in regional towns around Australia with Flickerfest’s ‘Best of Australian’ tour.  

Initially trained as an actor in Sydney and the prestigious Stella Adler Art of Acting Studio in Los Angeles. Rebekah moved into production interning with The Steve Jaggi Company, during the production of Riptide, before taking up the position of Studio Coordinator at Trackdown Studios (Australia's largest premier audio post-production and music facility); where she assisted the music teams for the score recording of Ladies in Black, The Lego Ninjago Movie and Peter Rabbit.   

She is currently working on her first feature film, a coming-of-age story based on the life of para-swimmer Ella Jones.
